Fed: Give disgraced MP a second chance, says ALP
Federal opposition leader SIMON CREAN is supporting the political resurrection of formerQueensland Labor MP Mike Kaiser.
A spokesman for Mr CREAN says Mr KAISER should be given a second chance after resigningover a vote rorting scandal.
40-year-old Mr KAISER is expected to fill a vacancy as assistant ALP national secretary.
This follows the resignation of national ALP secretary GEOFF WALSH.
Mr CREAN'S spokesman says the party welcomes Mr KAISER'S return and believes he shouldn'tpay a lifetime penalty for voting in one electorate for a party preselection when he wasenrolled in another electorate.
Mr KAISER quit as a Labor MP for Woodridge in 2000 after he admitted at an inquiryhe had falsely signed a voter enrolment form two decades ago when he was a student.
