Vic: Small anti-war rally shuts defence building
About 25 police are blocking the entrance of a Defence Force building in central Melbournefrom a small group of anti-war protesters.
It's the protesters' third Monday morning rally in as many weeks outside Defence Plaza,a recruiting and logistics office in Bourke Street.
The building shut down at 7.30am (AEST) -- even though the police outnumbered protestersthree-to-one.
DAVEY HELLER, from the Direct Action Peace Network, says the picket against the warin Iraq will continue into the afternoon.
He says the small number of protesters is still managing to cause a major disruptionin a defence force building.
